We can work with you in several different ways.

 

For smaller jobs, we are happy to provide consultation as needed charging by the hour. Often these small jobs  are worthwhile for both the customer and the designer. Sometimes a few suggestions and novel ideas from an experienced garden designer are all that is required. In other cases, discussion can highlight the need for a master landscape plan for a larger area. The rate for these consultations is $40/hr.

When working with a Strata Corporation, we can help to bridge the gap between the landscape committee, the strata board, and the landscaper.

 

Larger jobs generally benefit from a more formal approach. For these larger projects, Great Outdoor Designs offers the following suite of services on an as-needed basis:
•    A minimum of two on-site planning meetings
•    Measurements, photographs, and drone photography
•    Two preliminary functional plans for your consideration
•    One or two detailed master plans with cost analysis to support informed choice on plants, materials and budget

The master plan will include a scaled drawing that you can send out to get bids from landscape contractors. Getting more than one bid is an important step towards cost and quality control on your landscaping job.

In some cases, landscape plans benefit greatly from a 3D design. 3D visualization can be very important for understanding how your landscape will integrate with the surrounding lots, sloping sites, and the beautiful views that are so common in our valley. It is also relatively easy to model what the vegetation will look like in 10 years’ time. You can be set up to view the 3D plan on your own computer and suggest modifications.
 
When you have the design you want, Great Outdoor Designs can make recommendations on who can provide the best installation. We can also work with the installer selected by you, to make certain that the plan is understood and followed correctly.
